Mahabad Petrochemical Complex

Mahabad Petrochemical Company in order to develop petrochemical production and petrochemical exports and optimal use of Iran’s gas resources and create added value on national capital as well as absorb and apply new petrochemical technologies and according to the approvals of the Board of Ministers, Mahabad Petrochemical Company with the participation of Iran Petrochemical And private sector investment has been formed.

The project preparation started in 1383 and the project implementation started in 1386. The owner of this company is Bakhtar Petrochemical Company.

Mahabad Petrochemical Complex annually produces 300,000 tons of linear light and heavy polyethylene (nominal capacity) and 30,000 tons of “Butane One” and sends them to domestic and foreign markets.
